Coating anti-corrosion refers to uniformly coating a layer of paint on the surface of rusty metal pipes to isolate them from various corrosive media. It is one of the most basic ways of steel pipe anti-corrosion. Composite materials or composite structures are increasingly used as anti-corrosion coatings on steel pipes. These materials and structures should have excellent dielectric properties, physical properties, stable chemical properties and wide temperature adaptability.

In order to better avoid corrosion in the pipeline, reduce frictional resistance and increase production, the film is coated on the inner wall of the pipeline. Common coatings are amine cured epoxy resin and polyamide epoxy resin with a thickness of 0.038~0.2mm. The inner wall of the pipe must be surface treated to ensure that the coating adheres firmly to the pipe wall. Since 1970, it has tended to use the same material for inner and outer wall coatings so that both inner and outer wall coatings can be applied.
In order to better reduce the heat dissipation of the soil on the medium and small diameter heat-conducting crude oil or fuel oil pipelines, a heat-insulating and anti-corrosion composite layer is added to the outside of the pipeline. The common insulating material is rigid plastic polyurethane foam with soft texture and suitable temperature of -185~95℃. In order to better improve its strength, a layer of high-density polyethylene is added to the outside of the insulation layer to form a composite structure to prevent groundwater from penetrating into the insulation layer.
If the external protective pipe is a polyethylene pipe, there is no need for corrosion protection. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance (the lowest working temperature can reach -70 ~ -100 ℃), excellent chemical stability, and can withstand most acid and alkali corrosion (not Oxidation resistance), insoluble in common solvents at room temperature, and low water absorption, but since it is a linear molecule, it can be slowly dissolved in some organic solvents without swelling, and has excellent electrical insulation properties .
