Precautions for construction of steel pipe pile

1. Structure, model, and specification. The pipe of steel pipe pile is generally made of ordinary carbon steel, including spiral seam steel pipe and straight seam steel pipe. Spiral welded steel pipe has been widely used in engineering because of its high stiffness. As the accessories of the steel pipe pile, mainly include the pile cap welded on the top of the pile to bear the upper load, the flat steel belt welded on the top of the steel pipe pile, the guard ring to protect the bottom of the pile, and the copper clip for welding the joint of the pile.

2, the selection of piling machinery. There are pillar types, mast types, tower types, gantry types, and so on. Three-point support mast type (crawler walking type) diesel pile driver is widely used.

3. There are two methods for piling sequence: excavation followed by piling and piling followed by excavation. In soft soil areas, the construction method of piling before digging can be generally adopted.

4. Transportation and hoisting of piles. Steel pipe piles can be transported to the construction site by the flatbed trailer and unloaded by crane at the side of the pile machine. Then, according to the development sequence of pile driving and supporting technical requirements and pile stacking, the site is wide, single-layer layout, and pays attention to direction. When the steel pipe pile is lifted, it should be lifted to the pile position first to insert the pile, and the steel pipe pile should be aligned with the sample pile marked with lime in advance to ensure that the pile position and pile body are straight.

5. Pile driving project. In order to prevent damage to the pile head during the hammering process, special pile caps should be placed on the top of the pile head before piling, and damping pads should be placed at the parts that can directly and economically withstand the actual hammering.

6. Pile extension. If the pipe diameter is constant, groove welds of the same strength shall be welded. When the pipe diameter changes, flanges, and bolts can be used to connect and should meet the requirements of equal strength. Steel pipe pile connection is generally welded.

7. Pile delivery. When there is a certain gap between the elevation of the pile top and the ground, and it no longer piles need to be connected, a pile driving cylinder can be used to drive the pile to the designed elevation. The pile driving cylinder should meet the following requirements: pile driving resistance should not be too large, impact energy can be effectively transferred to the driven pile, easy to pull up, and continuous permanent use.

8. Penetration operation. The stopping specification is mainly based on the penetration depth, combining the penetration degree during the piling process, the number of hammer strikes in the last 1m, and the total number of hammer strikes per pile.
