1. In pure bending, the outer arm wall of the neutral layer is thinned by tensile stress &1 under the action of the outer force distance M, and the inner side is stressed by compression. The combined forces N1 and N2 change the cross section of the tube. Based on this factor, the main reason for the quality decline of the bend is RX and SX. Therefore, in GBJ235-82, the RX value and the thinning amount of the outside under various pressure levels are clearly stipulated, in order to control the value of RX and SX, so as to ensure the quality.
2. The previous article has said that the lateral tension of the material in the bending pipe is different from the position of the neutral axis in the bending method. The neutral axis is about 1/3 away from the outer wall when the top bending type (compression bending) works, and the neutral axis is 2/3 away from the outer wall when the rotary bending type (back bending) works. Therefore, it is beneficial to use the rotary bending method for thin wall pipe bending.
