Reducers are used to connect pipes of different sizes; Generally, it is divided into concentric reducer and eccentric reducer. When the projection of the two ports of the reducer is concentric, it is called concentric reducer, and the projection of the eccentric reducer is a small circle cut in the outer circle.

3. The connection forms of reduced pipe are various, and the corresponding structure is also different. There are four kinds of connection forms, such as butt welding connection, thread connection, socket welding connection and flange connection.
According to the general practice, the pipe DN50 and above adopts butt welding to connect the reduction pipe, and the pipe DN40 and below adopts simmer bending, socket welding or taper pipe thread to connect the reduction pipe. When using butt welding to connect the reduced pipe, the pipe list number of the reduced pipe should be consistent with that of the connected pipe according to the principle of equal strength.

2. The choice of concentric reducing pipe or eccentric reducing pipe should be determined according to the requirements of process flow chart or piping layout. For example, the horizontal reduction pipe placed on the pipe gallery is usually the bottom of the eccentric reducer, the pump inlet pipe usually chooses the eccentric reducer, is the top flat or the bottom flat needs to depend on the specific situation.
3. Usually, butt welding reduction pipe is used for the reduction pipe on the pipe with DN≥50mm, while socket welding reduction pipe hoop is used for the pipe with DN≤40mm. However, the reduced pipe on galvanized pipe should be connected by thread.
